There's a Steak 'n Shake only about 45 mins. from us!!! Now you may be wondering why on earth this causes such unadulterated excitement for me. Steak 'n Shake is only one of the best diner-ish type chain restaurants around and, until a few minutes ago, I thought the closest one to me was 3+ hours away in a direction I rarely travel! My brother's family should be very thankful to hear this news as I always want to go there when we visit. Now I don't have to travel to Illinois to satisfy my craving for a delish frisco melt and divine mocha milkshake with added caramel...YUM! Mmm, this next part is a tad embarrassing, but if you've been a guest in our home, it's likely you have been served a drink in one of fabulous plastic Steak 'n Shake cups. haha
Since I created this post just to commemorate hearing this wonderfully exciting news (and I am terribly hungry at this moment), I thought I would also indulge in thinking of some of my favorite places and meals...if I still have your attention, feel free to stop reading at any time. I won't be offended, promise! : )
Let's start with the one that we just had for my 30th birthday--Chicken Saltimbocca from Buca di Beppo. OMW, good! Lightly breaded chicken breasts with prosciutto, melted cheese, capers, and artichoke hearts covered in a divine lemon cream sauce...Hungry, yet?
Hmm, then we have the coconut shrimp with pina colada sauce and the shrimp scampi from Red Lobster. Not to mention their yummy cheddar bay biscuits...*sigh* Can't wait for the endless shrimp next month!
Olive Garden was our "date" restaurant and a classic. Love the seafood alfredo there, and they've had several limited time only dishes that have been out of this world good....and the tiramisu, oh my!!!
Then there's Pie in the Sky's chocolate peanut butter pie. There are truly no adjectives to properly describe this taste sensation!
La Madeline's turkey bistro sandwich, mmm!
Ok, I guess I should stop...this isn't doing anything to help my immense case of the munchies. Can you tell I'm a "foodie"? I promise we really don't eat out all the time! :D I'm sure when I've had a particularly delightful food experience, and of course, my first trip to "our" Steak 'n Shake, I will have to post about it. Aren't you just so excited? ; )
You are so funny! ha ha
ReplyDeleteWe should all make a trip to 1960 and you can show me why Steak and Shake is so great!
